Please balance the habitable ratio

The amount of habitable planets around, and their distribution, is very frustrating to fine-tune. It should be a sliding scale but I don't find that to be the case at all. If I set it to "abundant", they are everywhere, and I find that to be too much. But if I set it one notch down at "common", they are nowhere. Literally 6/7 stars will have no habitable planets. There are, what, 6 different settings? Why is there such a massive gap between one notch and the notch next to it? I'm seeing this in every single game and it's frustrating beyond belief. If I don't set it to abundant, most of the time I can only settle about 2-3 planets total (on a large map). When I set it to abundant I'll quickly get about 15-20 planets (not even kidding). I need something in between these two settings.

It would be nice to have a numerical range associated with the settings via tooltip.

In the Steam guide section there is a nice article on how to dive into the files and change this sort of stuff.  It takes a bit of practice but you will get the hang of it if you are careful.  I used to change the stats in GC2 and it is pretty much done the same way.  For me, I like a universe with more planets, more habitable planets and larger planets.  This is all covered in that tutorial.  One of the best things about Stardock is that they programmed these games to be flexible if you take the time to figure it out.  You can change almost anything you don't like, like adding ability points or trait points, or changing tech inflation, changing buyout ratios, etc.....
