Fleet movement

Anyone able to help me out here? I just got the game today, getting a good feel for it, exact for this one problem. Whenever I create a fleet and try moving it I can't send it more than 2-3 spaces away from where it is. All unfleeted units will move as far away as I tell them to but I cannot for the life of me get a fleet to accept my command unless I keep telling it to move in short intervals. It's really frustrating when trying to move an entire army.

My "simple" instructions from https://forums.galciv2.com/303072 (among many...):

You have 1.80e, not 1.80g.

Download this and then run SDC to update DA. You can open it via Notepad or send it through your favorite virus scanner if you're concerned about the contents; it's clean. It changes your DA version number to 1.7 so SDC will properly update DA.

Don't forget to have SDC as well as DA closed when you do this.

You may need to change your server to US-1, via Tools-->Settings:Internet in SDC. Refreshing XML Data in the same screen may also be necessary.

I had this problem once too (almost all of us did, I think), so it's not like I can take credit for the fix. But several people have expressed discomfort editing their registry, so I set the key to 1.7 on my own system and then exported it so they wouldn't have to.
