Why playing MOO 3 is better ...

... than having your teeth ripped out by a masochistic dentist. Okay, it's debateable.

A very delayed April Fool's gesture. ;)

Live long and play GalCiv...

"having your teeth ripped out by a masochistic dentist."

Why would this be bad? Masochists like to turn themselves, so why would having my teeth ripped out by a dentist determined to hurt HIMSELF be a problem for me?

Now, a sadistic dentist... that, I'd be scared about. ;p

MOO3 developers should be tested for drugs. What were they smoking? That game is so terrible it made me hate the game I loved most at the time, MOO2, just because it's part of the same series.

I was so geared up for Moo3 when it came out that I broke Moo2 back out (after 5 years of gathering dust). I really hope that the sheer awful-ness of Moo3 will not kill the series. Was it just me, or were the races in Moo3 just...awful? They took out the easily identifiable, distinctive races that we all knew and loved: Elerians, Mrrshans, Alkari etc, and replaced them with a bunch of jellyfish that all looked about the same. Yeah, I read the story and why the Eleriansd others weren't in it, but it was a bad move, IMO.

looove moo3 and I also loooove GC. Don't see why GC get's more enjoyable while bashing moo3, but it can have something to do with the caveman mentality, us against them *pukes*.

Im going to have to agree with #8. This MOO3 bashing
is getting pointless, especially when we start threads on the topic. I like the fact that this forum isnt a flamefest like the MOo3 forums, but statements like this will make it more like that, not less.

This thread was not started as a bash or a statement, it was started as a joke. You know, humor, haha. I haven't once started, or participated in a thread in this forum that "bashed" MOO3 or any other game. I thought the little emotes were supposed to relay things like that, intent, humor, seriousness, etc. If you look at the first few responses, they recognized it as a joke, as intended.

Some people have no sense of humor.

I like Moo3 and galciv. I think I like Moo3 more over all but I just got galciv so it's getting more playing time ATM.

I'm not an Infogames basher. I loved Moo2 so much that after finding Moo3 unplayable I played at least 20 full games on huge galaxy (yeah, I'm out of work so insert no-life comments here). Moo2 ranks in my top five games ever. But Moo3 was just not ....FUN....They took too much out of it. You like it? Great. I am GLAD to hear that. I hope a LOT of people like it, so that the series doesn't die. But personally, I found reading a sitrep dull, the races disinteresting, and overall the game to be totally unplayable.

Not to mention that IMHO the grapics in MOOR2 were superior to MOO3. I bought it, played it for a week and took it back. That is one development team that needs to be de-boned and then drowned in a porta-potty. Fortunatly we have GalCiv and the hope of a new legacy in this genre.

I too was exstatic having have waited for over a year for moo3 only to have my hopes and dreams crushed! Moo3 problems start in the interface and just compound as you go from level to level. Every damn thing is in menus which range from complicated to impossible. I mean just to do nothing in one turn I had to click like 15 things!!! And the endless barage of diplomatic messages when you are in senate is too much. Not only are most of the messages repetitive, havign have been asked or a trade treaty 15 turns in a row even thou I accepted it turn one, but also they are incredibly hard to read. That thin white text under the communication screen? come on. A game needs to be both complex and simple in order to be sucessful. Moo3 just lacks the ability to be simple, you are always worrying what that foolish AI is doing to your planets. Although galciv is a simple game, it works! And you know you cant argue with resualts. Hell it can be simple. I played few games without ever going to the domestic screen. Sure I was having hell of a lot of financial difficulties but I did win one an din the process learned a lot about all other aspects before I ever discovered the existance of the domestic screen :/
