Repair Rate?

How does the repair rate work? Seems like it take for ever for my damaged ships to repair...my repair rate is 50% with 3 star bases with the repair upgrade in them.

I believe that would +50% to whatever the default repair rate is. That said, the default repair rate is, as far as I can tell, quite slow. Try moving your ships into planetary orbit; they repair much faster there.

Yes, putting ships in planetary orbit makes a huge difference in repair rate.
If your repear stat is +50%, ships in orbit will repair very quickly.
I have won wars against superior numbers by cycling wounded ships back for a
quick repair in orbit around a nearby system.
