Some help please -Weirdstuff

I was playing my last game that got me 11,960 points and most of the races were set to begginer.... and this event came up very VERY often, where "On a tour of PlanetIII a former worker shot ____ Of The Altarian Republic, whats worse is that private sources have provided arms"

Somthing allong those lines, and dozens of ships would appear; I'm wondering who created that mod... and what was the zip file off of galciv.com called? I just want to delete it because well its fun, but not fun...for me specifically. :HOT: Any help would be most apreciated to help me locate the problem quicker :)

This is not modded event. Its always in the game like the fundamentalist, dreadlord, etc events. Its a very rare event in games normally.

If it came very often, then you aren't spying the AIs: spying allows to avoid diplomatic blunders. I have never experienced it. But I always put money in spying.

I had it once, and the AI got about 140 corvettes :SURPRISED: and it took a long, long, long time to destroy them all. It's no fun, specially since in mid-game, corvettes cannot do anything to your ships, but it take forever to "clean" the galaxy. And they can pretty well disrupt all your trade (they are also a threat to your AM missiles). Since then I always put the minimal amount on spying, for every race, as soon as I can and I've never had that particular event. However there are other ones that give a player (or AI) a lot of ships (despite the money put in espionnage) but nowhere near what I had before, or near what you had this time.

Is it against the human player or between AIs?

I happened to me once to have about 74 corvettes (precursor event).
The others were either the "Die Humans!" event or the precursor event for the AI, in which case the corvettes were used against whoever they were at war with. The times it hapened to be against me (either one of the events), it has complettelly ruined my game, if early on, or was just a nuisance, (because I had to protect very well my constructors and trade lines and AMM) and it tok me several turns to destroy about 140 corvettes (or let them attack one of my dreadnoughts and be destroyed by the dozens). But it still took at least ten turns to clean all the mess...

Absolutely! If it was happening that often, it sounds as if you were putting no money into spying.
Keeping an eye out will yield so much more than just avoiding that particular nusance: stolen techs, info on when you're being ploted against, etc.

PB, maybe because your games are so quick. Not enough time goes thorough in the game for the event to trigger. I just asked this same scenerio in the Guardian forum. I don't think it deals with spying. It happened when I was just about to destroy another race.

Seems like there are 2 seperate events going on in this thread. They don't get the ships because of not spying. You will get the mad foreign race with out spying though.

Yes, the diplomatic blunder (also know as "die Humans") that is the event described in the beginning of the thread, and the precursor frigates, where a civ gain 100 frigates without any specific reason. The diplomatic blunder can be avoided with spying.

Kind of a pain to clean up but it does raise the level of your attack ships which can help when you go up against the big boys, like the Altarian's Paladins.

Yeah it's a pain to clean up...

But so far since my clean installs and specific installation of only Stardock Certified mods; by Icho or TurgotZ; or someone like that. It's gone prettyw ell despite at the end, when only me and the altarians were arround an event popped upa nd ONLY put me and the Altarians to war saying if we knew more about the altarians we migh thave avoided that tussle.

Thanks Peace Pheonix for the tip :) :HOT:
