GalCivII Dread Lords Patch Updates & No Stardock Central Internet PC

I just bought GalCivII Dread Lords for $10 at Circuit City. Seemed like a good price.
It is version 1.2 and seems to install, boot up and begin fine.
I have yet to get into a game, want it updated.
I notice on forum threads it is up to at least v 1.4, maybe higher, let me know.
My game PC is an offline desktop.
My internet PC is at the public library.
Therefore downloading Stardock Central onto the internet PC I use is impossible.
How do I get the version updates (patches)?

SDC is necessary in order to download 1.5. If you don't know anyone who would allow you to do it at their place, the planned 2.0 update will probably have a standalone version available that can be downloaded without SDC. However that's still quite a ways off (sometime after the second expansion releases in December).

You mean the StarDock Central can be installed and used on my USB?
I have the application downloaded though uninstalled.
I guess I just assumed it effects the registry and I have no Administers Rights>>>

Just tired, and no go. Need Admin Rights to put SDC on my flash on the library PC.
I could install SDC on my USB flash at home and bring it to the library but my guess is that wont work.
Hmmm maybe v 1.2 is alright as is?

SDC needs its registry entries to work properly, so you'll need a connected computer where you do have permission to use it.

????? Are you sure it is version 1.2 ????? I though that the retail versions were either 1.0 (for GC2 : DL) or 1.5 (for GC2 Gold).

BTW, I hope you have purchased a GC2 version with a unused serial ID ...

There still seems to be a standalone patch for 1.4. The difference between 1.4 and 1.5 is mostly some Dark Avatar compatibility updates, so that should work fine.
Download page
Of course, the link is only visible if you have registered your serial number, and are logged in with your account. The "Galactic Civilizations II Bonus Pack:" there links to "GalCiv2_140X_102606.exe" which seems to be the 1.4 standalone patch. Since the current version is 1.5, that link has been obscured, to remove confusion.
1.5 can only be acquired through sdcentral, as kryo said.

The second production run of plain DL was updated to 1.2.

Once the main menu becomes available, the game showed 1.2 in the left lower corner of the moniter screen. Add/Remove programs screen does not tell the version.
Is there any other way to tell?

I noticed on Gamespot that there are also patch versions 1.3 and 1.31, I assume I'd need 3 total patches to get up from 1.2 to 1.4.

I have my game serial number with me as I type this, but I see no place to submit it (without Stardock Central of course).

I sent an email explaining this to Stardock technical help and the auto reply said they got my email but need time to reply.

No, you don't need to use intermediate patches. Each one includes everything prior.

That's different, thanks.
Stardock Tech support is working with me via email. They seem quite helpful. I appreciate all the support on this thread.

Stardock hooked me up with a sig bin file for my game to be activated.
Once you get the sig bin file in the email you are suppose to:
"Save the file to the software directory you are trying to activate"

Which directory would that be?
I'm activating GalCivII DreadLords so does that mean go to "programs" folder, find GalCivII DreadLords folder and dump it in right there; just anywhere inside the main folder for the game?

It needs to go in the same place as the game itself. By default, that's C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2.

IT WORKED!!
All set, up to v 1.5 now thanks to all your helps.

Let it be known that you can get Stardock updates using a library PC.

I ride a ship called the SS sig.bin
