Option to stop stripping ship during upgrading?

Long ago, I remember there was an option to strip ships of usefull parts when upgrading them. Now , I do not see that option anymore, and am trying to stop the stripping from being done whenever I go to the ship design and upgrade a ship.

Would be very usefull when you only want to upgrade 1 item instead of all the items.

If it is there, and I'm just blind, please let me know so I can turn it off
