Contacting Minor Races

Am I missing something?

I started getting reports that `our spies have found minor race x (for example), has `y' new tech (for example).

But I don't see any way to directly contact that race. I see no way to know where they are, either. Also, I never made any spies, or put any money in to espionage.

How can I be getting these reports, but have no control over manually contacting these races, or knowing where they are.

Obviously, if my spies know where they are, I should be able to know where they are, as well.

What's the scoop?

Under the foreign policy button, there is a tab for minor races. Click on it and a screen showing the different races will appear. Just click on the one you want to talk to and click the speak button. As for finding them you just have to click around the map. Each minor race has a symbol so just look for that on a star system.

also you can click on the star and at top right there is a button to "speak to".

Perhaps StarGalax is referring to the illogical manner the news reports function in. At the start of my current Gigantic map, I was getting reports about how the Drengin were laying the smack down on the Yor... But at that point, I had no contact with either.

All sorts of things pop up like that referring to races you can't actually contact..
