has anyone else experienced problems while using the num pad to "drive" ships. with num lock on nothing seems to happen but when i turned num lock off i could drive the ships with the num pad but then suddenly the backround star density or something cranked way up (to the point i had trouble distinguishing objects from the background stars) and the game slowed WAY down. if im hitting the #4 then i should be switching to the top down view and if i'm hitting left or right arrow or whatever then it should be undefined, right?

what am i doing!?!?!?!
