Traded tech does not show up

Hello All,
I traded for warp drive tech. It was 3 levels ahead of my current technology. When I went to the tech tree, it still showed as needing to be researched. Also checked in buid ships, and the technology is not available. This also happened for plasma II
WHat happened.This has happened on 4 different occasions.
Also, when I traded for a beam defense tech, it did not show in the ship list either. The way I got it too show up was resarch a differnt defense tech (i.e. branch) and then it showed up. What's up?

You don't seem to know that the tech is there but you don't know how to use is or implement it yet this is why you research the preceding techs to reach that level of technology when you research impulse drive III and you see that the next tech is Warp II don't say I didn't tell you so..

Warp was the next tech in the propulsion line. I am just curious as to why it did not high-light after the trade (yes I accepted it) and show the warp II as the tech to be researcched next? Also at the end of the turn, it did not show as that tech being researched/completed.

Also, on a related note. Took over a planet and got SIngularity driver. I only had mass drivers. I was then able to equip all future designs with the upgrade This seems to me as the same thing

Trades are not immediate unless they are building techs wait a turn then see what happens

it did not show as that tech being researched/completed.


during a trade it never does say it is compleated this because it is already compleate

You usually get the extra techs when you take a planet kind of as a gift for your effort or something...
