need help with attaining serial number

I have a euro copy of galatic civ 2, so when i try to atain the serial number to download the latest patch, i enter my e-mail adress and serial number of my copy but i recieve the message:

* Sorry, the serial number you have entered has already been claimed by a different email address.

I bought the game second hand and wonder if someone has a anwer to solve this problem.

You will probably need to contact both Stardock Support and the person you bought it from so you can change the registration.

You should probably contact Paradox since they are the European publishers.

you would have to get the serial information from the person you bought it from and send an email to [email protected] with your old account info and ur new account info. more info on it from the souce here. https://www.stardock.com/support.asp

And your new code will be emailed to you quite quickly.

EDIT: Huh, upon reading that I sound like a fraudster. It's a link to the section under downloads entitled "Bought your game in Europe?"
