I got owned by the I League

has any one else come across these guys?? i got absolutely steamrolled by them, it took about six turns and i was finished. they appeared out of nowhere and decided that they didnt like me.
i had the strongest economy, military, industry and everything, my most powerful ships had 30 beam and 16 shield, and i had about 20 of them.

sure I have , they can get really strong , the game I last encountered them they had at least 20 planets under their control on a Gigantic map. They helped me defeat the Torians and we became friends^^

I League???? A minor race that isn't so minor? What do you guys mean by I-league? The rest of us must study and prepare for this new foe. They remind me of the borg........resistance is futile.

actually they were horrible in the original game, they would own even the major civs, the i league is crazy, and powerful. be careful

They popped up in my space in one game, so within two turns, I conquered them.

There is a huge difference between the League of Independant Planets and the Borg.

The main one is that the I-League is just a set of planets originally formed from disheartened members of Evil Empires.

They are "Good" in the sense that they live only to destroy evil, So just as long as you took the Moral Highgrounds you have nothing to fear.

Preventation is the key, If you are an Evil Empire, Allways try to keep your people happy, Otherwise the I-League may form.

The main one is that the I-League is just a set of planets originally formed from disheartened members of Evil Empires.

They are "Good" in the sense that they live only to destroy evil, So just as long as you took the Moral Highgrounds you have nothing to fear.

Preventation is the key, If you are an Evil Empire, Allways try to keep your people happy, Otherwise the I-League may form.


A great concept. I hope that Stardock continues along these lines.

I agree, Good or Bad if i see them pop from any Civ i'll dump like 2 Fleets of Heavy's on thier planets as soon as i can...They scare me...More then my boss, Plus they usually get a decent planet

Its ok Twisties, the Vegans utterly destroyed me last game.

Ran into the I-League a few games back, I think the Yor took them out. They lasted 9, maybe 10 turns.

In a game with plenty of Evil personalities, Once the I-League form they will have on average 10 or so well-built planets as leverage.

However if they form just as a random minor race, They just become the flipside to the "Colony rush", And they cant do anything about it.




Please note however that I am basing this off the assumption that most of the rare minor race personalities are the same as it is in Galciv I

I'm quite sure that you are meaning the Fundamentalists. They are out to take out all evil in the galaxy.
The I-League can as far as I know form from all alignments. I haven't actually seen either of them in Galciv2 yet.

Aye, it says something along the lines of 'A group of disenchanted citizens from several races has broken off and formed the I-League.' Basically, they are the product of low morale.

the annihilated everyone, even the terrans and altarians, who were good.
but i fiured if i come across them again i will try and get them on my side, or wipe them out early.
