Update Collectors Edition german version

Hi All.

Last Friday I received my german GalCivII version (collectors edition) from Amazon. After the Installation I spent more time in activation and registration procedures than in actual game play...and it's still not done:
These are my issues I had run into up to now.

1. I registered with a valid email adress and activated my collectors edition by going to the 'Downloads'-->'Collectors Edition Downloads'. There I had to type in the game serial and the collectos Ed. serial. A message window confirmed that all given information was valid...such as my email address, game serial and CE serial.

2. I was dissapointed after I downloaded the 'Collectors Edition Content'. On your webpage it said 'Run this setup program below to ENABLE IN-GAME COLLECTORS EDITION CONTENT and install the Galactic Civilizations II Desktop. You must have the latest version of the game installed (either via standalone update from GalCiv2.com or Stardock Central). ' But after downloading the package the setup routine told me that it will ONLY INSTALL A GALCIVII DESKTOP?! Is this all about the collectors Edition? I don't want another lame windows desktop....I want special game content!

3. I tried to download the Retail update since there's no update to v1.0X in the Collector-Edition-Download Section. But when clicking on the download button of the retail update I always get directed to the Collector-Edition-Download Section. But, again, there is no update available. I wouldn't care if my german version of GalCivII would turn into an english version!

4. I downloaded Stardock Central, hoping that this 'gadget' would update my game and because you say in your download-section, that Stardock Central enables one to download the english version of the game for free. I registering at the Stardock Central with exactly the same information as I did for the registration on galciv2.com. But when trying to register my copy of GalCivII under 'settings' in Stardock Central it always says that the email-address i've entered does not match there records. BUT ALL INFORMATION IS EXACTLY THE SAME. I validated my email address and I can receive serial number information from the stardock central by email. But I can't register my copy of Galciv2.

Okay...so here are my questions:

1. How can I access the update?
2. How can I get Stardock Central working?
3. Where can I get the real Collectors Edition Stuff? As said before...I do not want to install another Windows desktop!

If you need any further information please let me know. I'm surprised that obviously nobody else run into these problems. It's the first game I wanted to play for years now...so I'm not into all this activation and registration and update stuff. Things obviously changed during the last years: More copy protection, more bugs, more complicated support
Luckily I have some English Skillz...As a German Speaking customer you're obviously lost when you have problems with this game.... Is there a german webpage of galcivII?

there you can read what's broken and hints on how to run a workaround without having to download the whole game.

I cannot say anything on the Collectors Edition Stuff, because I don't simply know if it's activated for me or not. I didn't received any errors, so I think it's activated, but I don't know how to proof this. I've read the differenc should be the great box of the DVD, the technologytree on paper and about 14 special modules in the shipdesigner. So you'll really miss much if the activation dosn't work at the moment.
Don't misunderstand, it should work, but you can play without it and play with fun until the initial problems with the German release are fixed.

I just right-clicked on the "Galactiv Civilizations II" Game Entry in my Stardock Central and clicked on 'Activate Application (w/logging)'
Immediately I got the following message: (I changed my Email-Address slighty to prevent from spam-bots)

However....the addresses are absolutely the same! Why, so, do I still get this error message?

Danke für deine Hilfe Torsten! So ein Technologiebaum ist schon praktisch!

Stimmt schon, dass ich das Spiel spielen könnte. Aber es ist schon recht merkwürdig, was hier mit meinem Account passiert. Völlig unverständlich ist für mich auch, dass man seine eingegebenen Serials nicht unter den Account-Informationen auf galcivII.com abrufen kann. Dadurch ist die Frage 'Habe ich alles richtig eingegeben...und was habe ich eigentlich eingegeben' im Nachhinein wirklich nur sehr schwer zu klären.

Da kann man gespannt sein, was sich in den nächsten Wochen so verbessern wird.

Well, the technologytree is usefull, but it's doublesided... so you cannot put it on the wall
As far as I know you'll need patch 1.0X for using the Collector Editions Things, maybe this is because of having a unpatched 1.0?
I'm really shure there will be much improvements this week.

Kein Thema, der Techbaum ist schon nett, aber doppelseitig nur halb so sinnvoll, hätte man schön als Poster nutzen können. Verbessern wird sich da einiges, da bin ich mir sicher, der Schaden wäre einfach zu groß wenn man das nicht schnellstens in den Griff bekommt, so gut das Spiel auch wirklich ist (mir machts verdammt viel Spaß) der negative Beigeschmack ist einfach da.

Beware, it still might not work!
I got the german version as well but installed it via the stardock software. Then I installed the bonus stuff and while I was trying to install the beta patch it told me a key was missing in the registry.
Might or might not have something to do with it, but could also be caused by the system crash I had while playing the game.

@Techtree:
DE: Wäre schöner gewesen wenn die Ansicht vom Techbaum grösser wäre und/oder zoom-bar.

EN: Would be nice if the view over the techtree were larger and/or scaleable.
