Is there any way to reset a game?

because it would be nice

I had a game last night where I really liked the map/layout, but I forgot to save at the beginning of the game.

I didn't do very well and ended up being at war with pretty much the entire galaxy, but I'd love to try again on the same map. I searched around and I didn't see any mention of a reset game functionality, does it exist?

Might be az way to extract the map from the last save of the game. But I don't have one atm :/

I know you can reset the game with totally new layout(ctrl-n), but I don't think you can back to a specific map layout. Perhaps this would be a good suggestion for a tweak?
