HI:
I thought I remember reading somewhere that star bases allow your ships to move further out into space b/c the maximum range of ships is based from the nearest planet OR Star Base. I'm playing a scenario with a huge map and am trying to get my ships across the map by building star bases along the route to help extend the range. This doesnt seem to be working. I've tried building all 3 bases (influence, military and economic) and my ships still do not seem to be able to move further from the nearest planet than they originally did. Is building life support modules the only way to get your ships to move long distances?
