What happens when you remove farms?

I have a couple planets in which the population has skyrocketed. It happened because of the xeno farm technology. Once those farms were upgraded my population got higher than I wanted. What happens if I decommission the farms and I have suddenly have more people than the planet can support?

The population would immediately go down to the max you can support.

I goes down semi-slowly, actually, since you can live for longer than a week without food.

Well, yeah, 40 days or so is the longest we can live without food. That's roughly 5.5 weeks, so yeah it's kinda slow and fast at the same time.

These are taxpayers.

So if your government was starving you, how long would you pay taxex. 2 weeks seems magnanimous to me.

Ask the people in Russia during Stalins riegn whether they paid taxes when they were intentionaly starved.

They did, or they went to the gulags and paid thier taxes in labor

Do you know if it made you evil? just curious if the Dev's got that detailed. The rest of the game is pretty detailed, so I'm guessing yes, but who knows.

Thanks for the responses. I was wondering if it made you evil, the approval rating dropped, or at worse, even revolted? Most people don't like to starve you know.
