what i think the ai can do (a lot) better

Hello again everyone, i now consistently beat suicidal difficulty ais with any race on any settings on gigantic sized maps with common stars/planets and slow tech rate. The latest game im playing is with the altarians (default settings) using the universalist party. and im finding the game to become a drag as it takes about 10 seconds min to finish the turn (because of my computers performance) waiting for some years to pass so the metaverse score will be acceptable.

i think the ai is very inefficient with how it uses its planets which causes it to express a severe lack of overall performance (in research, industry etc.). The only thing it does much better is getting the manufacturing capitol and restaurant of eternity up.

  • the ai does sometimes not use terraforming techs (yor&drengin)
  • does not appear to struggle to run at 100% spending with as much income as possible (which i do)
  • does (still) not value speed so very well and i still see some speed 2 colony ships where speed 3 would simply have been much faster.
  • suicidal ai does not appear to use its 200% economy very well, buying things rather then dramatically increasing spending (by building labs/factorys etc.).
  • doesn't "leap" or beeline to techs (for example to a 2nd weapon/armor type to counter a target to conquer) which i do.
  • doesnt do a lot of other things probably because it doesnt use its economy very well

i will try to ellaborate some more later but for now this is my main list
feel free to add

ps. can someone confirm that if you take longer to finish a game you get a higher score?
