In the display settings dialog (right click anywhere on the desktop - Properties, then Settings), I inadvertently had my "2nd display" (my built in graphics chipset - not the nvidia card that is my primary display) checked to "Extend my windows desktop to this monitor."
Unchecked it. Everything loaded perfectly.
Now, to play.
