My turn button vanished

New game, current version, all drivers new (just re-imaged my pc yesterday). I get about 8 turns into a random small-galaxy game and the turn button GOES AWAY.
It never came back. It was such a new game I didn't have any saves to go back to. Very weird.
I started another game and played for 3 hours straight.
Just thought I'd mention this in case someone else had seen it.
