Galaxy Size

At beginning you can chose betwean many Galaxy Sizes most of them with only 1 Hex different to the next.

My qestion now is why not making a slider that can freely scale the size from 3x3 to 12x12? (i.E. first Slider position is 3x3 next is 4x4 ect.)

Jurgen,

I just want to jump in here for a moment to point out that the user's guide's description of galaxy sizes does NOT match what the game gives. There is a file "english.str" that also conflicts with what the game gives, and this was also reported in the early alpha.

The sizes the game gives are:

Tiny - 3*3,
small - 4*4 (Last time I looked - many build prior to 3z1),
medium - 6*6 (last time I looked - many builds prior to 3z1),
large - 9*9 (last time I looked - many builds prior to 3z1),
huge - 12*12
gigantic - 15*15

The sizes shown in the file "english.str" are:
=================
[GalaxySizeTxt0] Tiny
[GalaxySizeTxt1] Small
[GalaxySizeTxt2] Medium
[GalaxySizeTxt3] Large
[GalaxySizeTxt4] Huge
[GalaxySizeTxt5] Gigantic

[GalaxyDescTxt0] A 3x3 Galaxy
[GalaxyDescTxt1] A 5x5 Galaxy
[GalaxyDescTxt2] An 7x7 Galaxy
[GalaxyDescTxt3] A 9x9 Galaxy
[GalaxyDescTxt4] A 12x12 Galaxy
[GalaxyDescTxt5] A 15x15 Galaxy
=======================
The user's guide shows:
================
Tiny - 3 x 3
Small - 4 x 4
Medium - 5 x 5
Large - 8 x 8
Huge - 10 x 10
Gigantic - 12 x 12
================

Brad, Cari, and co.,

Please address this before release of 1.0. These conflicting states will cause nothing but confusion to buyers, and will taint the otherwise good quality of the game.

Which definition should be used? If you can find it in the archives, I think you will find that I had suggested that the values in the file "english.str" made more sense. However, I fear that trying to change the code at this late date would be too risky.
