Starbase module stacking question

Pile ON!!!!!

On page 43 of the game manual, it says Starbase modules stack with each other and that it is recommended to build multiple starbases in the same area...

So say Starbase A = Influence +20% and another Starbase B = influence +10%, and say a competing race's colony was in the middle of both A & B's coverage..... would that mean the total influence would be +30%?

And would it be possible to exceed 100%?

Exceed 100%? Heck, you can get upwards of +300% with just one starbase. The effects of multiple starbases in the same area are cumulative though.

So does that mean I can get a cumulative of 600% for 2 starbases influencing an opponent colony?

I think people are gonna find that starbases are overpowered eventually.

I was on a large map.. and had a relatively small area of the map for myself. So I went the route of researching all the starbase modules I could for attack an defense.

Then I made some cheap medium ships with fairly good attack amd no defense.

THEN.. I set all my planets to build constructors and upped their military production to really pump them out... I built overlapping military starbases all over my sectors and pumped em up with the ship defense bonuses.

So I was basicly using cheap ships with good attacks.. and pumped their defense up into the 4-5 area in everything. it was a nice little defense tactic... I dont think I lost ever lost a single ship on my home turf.. and it was ALOT cheaper and faster than trying to research the techs needed to make that kind of ship otherwise.

Well I take back the "overpowered" part... even a starbase with 90 attack will get owned by a fleet of tiny ships with good attack ratings.
