No industry after invasion

I invaded some planets of the Iconian, and just to play around I bombed the living daylights of them first. But now the planet only has 3 mp left. And I can only build a manufacturing center, which will take forever to finish. Is there a way to just build the basic factory? After that I can upgrade it to a manufacturing center.

No, but you can purchase the manufacturing center to speed it up. That's the problem with most methods of ground attacks; this game's system seems to encourage destroying a village in order to save it.

You mean the game discourages destroying the planet. It is costly and painful to destroy your enemies infrastructure and then attempt to build it up. Someday the USA will realize this and we will stop bombing everything in sight and then spending billions to rebuild it.

Not when the governement (a.k.a. the ones who gives the bombing orders) is lobbied by the very same companies who will get the juicy contracts for re-construction... In other words, both hands stroke the other, while people die.

Secong thought: It's like if Mitrosoft (in the game) gave you a a bonus in $ or anything (from research tech to approval rating) if you approve to use Mass Driver and then use the company to buy what you destroyed. That would be realistic!!!

Since you sent some asteroids againt the plant it is kinda normal there is nothing left There are less destructive invasion means that preserve the planet (as far as an interplanetary invasion can preserve anything from anything) and still are efficient

Yeh, I agree . "Traditional" invasion works better. But even after I destroyed the colony and then recolonized, all I could build is that manufacturing centre. So even doing the peaceful thing I still have to wait 100 or 150 weeks to finish it.

Buying is an option, have to try that :S.

Information warfare is probably the best if they have low approval.

Mini-soldiers is probably the best non-planet destroying method after that. It just destroys some improvements, but not the planet quality.
