I updated my copy of GalCiv 2 today, both the game executable and the multimedia updates. That is where the problems started. Both galciv and the gcconfig program ceased working, the gcconfig problem telling that the file d3dx9_27.dll file was missing - it wasn't.
So, after visiting here, I updated the drivers for my geforce 5700 to the latest - to no avail. so, I uninstalled the game, deleted the download directory to ensure minimal data corruption, and commenced to redownload the game. This time, gcconfig works, but galciv itself does not.
My system specs are:
athlon64 @ 2ghz
1gb ram
256mb geforce 5700 video card
windoze xp pro
Up until the point where I updated the game, it worked, unfortunately now it does not.
