Leaders

Are there going to be fleet leaders? Ones that can add bonus's to the fleet... Should have a limited amount, maybe based on military funding and a military academy improvement. Would add some more atmosphere to have Admiral Smith leading your 1st Fleet.

I doubt it, myself. As Brad has said before, we are the leader of an empire, not a tactiction.

Thats what I mean, we appoint the leader of the fleet (not a ship). A leader can give a +1 attack bonus or such.

The leader concept does not appeal to me. This should be an optional component introduced as an expansion, if its added at all.

I like the idea of leaders, gives a human (or alien) face to the whole thing. I think it would be too trickly for Stardock to implement though.

Managing 10 leaders would still be a pain. Its a pain managing 4 leaders in MoO2.

e only play by a formula. In short it would add to the overall replayability of the game for more people.

navigator bonus. Navigator gave all ships in the same fleet +x speed and allowed ships to fly over black holes, and travel through nebulas at full speed.

Make sure you accept one navigator, and you're set for the rest of the game.

e for you... early on, when it matters. So, that means what? Notable Fleet leaders that give +1 attacks or +25% to a weapon attack or defense?

it may be all moot anyway if theres no feedback from stardock wether they are even remotly interested in such an addition.

might want leaders instead of the ship system: I might not want my best commanding element tied to a particular ship, especially as it become obsolete.
