I just installed deskscape (twice actually). Everytime I launch it or right click on desktop and go to configure deskscapes it keeps closing. It stays open until I select something on the online tab. I was only able to download one item from there because I was able to click fast enough to download it but it won't stay open long enough to do it again. I paused deskscapes hoping that would help but it didn't . Now I can't unpause it. Again I have reinstalled it hoping it was the initial download, but same problems occur. If I go to configure again it comes up, but if I select anything at this point including downloaded items it immediately closes down. No errors are showing. Window simply disappears. Current selected is still in a paused status and won't change.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try the purge and reinstall steps : https://forums.stardock.com/485954/deskscapes-support-faq#reinstalling
Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account, reboot after the purge, reinstall using the latest you just download and reboot again after it done installing. Retest and report back.
Thanks

So I followed the steps. The odd thing is I was able to download more of the online dreams, but as soon as I finished downloading one the deskscape window closes. I reopened and downloaded another. Same thing. Then once I had reopened and downloaded a few, I applied one of them to my desktop and now my original problem has come back. If I select another dream to download it immediately closes the deskscape window. I can switch between the ones I downloaded already but it won't let me download any new ones at this point. Actually I just tested preloaded ones and those make the window close as well. Only the 3 I downloaded right after reinstalling work. It lets me switch between them with no issues. Anything else new download or preloaded stills close the window. So if I select a preloaded picture it closes in about a second. Can't even get to apply before it closes.

Hello ,
Try temporarily disabling your anti-virus app and trying again.
If that fails, please consider doing a Clean Boot: https://forums.stardock.com/485954/deskscapes-support-faq#cleanboot
This will tell us if the issue is caused by a 3rd party app.
