I've been able to successfully change color mid game, a thing people seemed to think impossible, or at least, that's what it seemed like in the 5 minute search I did before going into hex editing.

So here is the deal:

In an hex editor, search for your race name

You will find something like this:

Race Name....Race Name....Race Leader....Home World....Custom Star......\\Gfx\Race\race_custom.pngH...C:\**redacted, this is the race logo directory**....Gfx\Race\Race_custom.png....................gfx\Message_Alien....NewsRobot_Alien....Race00........Generic............* Unknown Bonusess.ÿÿ..)ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿs.ÿÿÿÈ.ÿÿÿÿÿs.ÿÿÿÿÿÿ....Y...2...Y...d.......IndustrymE..Ó...›‚..ø.......B... N..ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ

Looks pretty illegible, right?

What you need to search now is the BLUE GREEN RED hexes of your color (just like those ff2276 html color strings, mine was 73 0F 00). There were 3 occorrences of the color in mine, probably because I set the hull or something else as that color too, just change everything because being able to see what you are doing is probably a higher priority than aesthetics

They were 'XX' in this string: "Unknown BonusesXXXÿ..)ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿXXXÿÿÈ.ÿÿÿÿÿXXXÿÿÿÿÿ"
