Thanks for the feedback. I'm actually trying out quite a few different setups, but sadly, out of my 7 or so games yesterday where I chose mid/support for roles, I only rolled mid once, so I didn't get experiment a bunch with a mid setup. I did go with an aggressive support setup (yielded mixed results - hyper carry if doing ok, so so if not).
Anyway, let's see. I actually felt great against the vlad in that one game. I traded fine with him and actually whooped him just fine until his friends showed up and aramed it up for a long time. You are right - I went with the scaling health, but I felt pretty comfortable. That said, the vlad seemed to have a pretty low skill level, so it wasn't much of a threat.
hm... so, I actually watched that fellas guides a few times. I'm debating on whether or not to setup specific rune pages for her. Sadly, I like to specialize A BUNCH, so I'll end up having to blow away some pages to get zyra specific. Maybe someday dr rito will let me give them more money for additional rune pages.
Anyway, playing zyra mid is impacting my support zyra game - a bit in a negative way. Mana usage and harass vary quite a bit. When supporting, I'd generally use less mana and try to converse for a bigger burst pattern. As mid, I spam a bit more (not over the top, but more). But I'm carrying that over to the support role and I don't have quite as much sustain for the early stuff.
I've been trying with and without the mastery that either gives a % of your mana back added dmg if below 40% hp. Without the % mana has a huge impact on me at various stages in either role. The added dmg seems pretty valuable though.
I did ok vs a LB in my one game as mid last night even with my jungler running mid with low hp for no reason to die and give lb dbl buffs 5 min in...
I think I would have been better off if I had a flat MR setup... so maybe I'll make one of those. My traditional zyra support is actually just a safe support page (mpen, arm, mr, maybe health - can't remember). That was my only other option for runes vs lb that game. The lb clearly had some ideas of how to play around the zyra matchup. She'd dash to an angle then reposition a bunch to try to avoid getting snared by my e. Anyway, quite a few matchups to learn. Hoping I don't burn out on her too quickly. Started to yesterday.
Maybe try harder to get an auto in on your opponent right after using the QW combo. Seemed like you were skipping the auto a lot which is pretty key for the automatic Thunderlord's proc and keeping your plants targeted on the enemy. I like to queue up an auto attack when I'm out of range which causes me to walk towards the opponent. When I get close enough I press QW so my auto attack goes off immediately if they try and harass back.
Yeah - I saw that in the guide also - just not used to the motion 100%. Something to work on for sure. thx
