However, the Thalans were described as not fitting that pattern, so I was hoping that they were some how odd, like maybe having their raised arms being really their legs or something like that.
Yeah, I was also a little disappointed. Primarily because it contradicts what was said about the look of the Thalan. From the Xeno Anthropology tech in the Thalan tech tree:
"The galaxy is populated by a series of humanoidic species. Only the Thalan break from this pattern with its multiple appendages."
Still, it was good to finally see more of the races, instead of only the upper part of their torsos.
What is that lore piece? I know of the Mirthilar and how its responsible for the Altarians, but what's the explanation for the others?
From the same tech I quoted above:
"The different humanoids of the galaxy are remarkably similar in terms of what they are interested in, what their goals are, and what influences them. It is our belief that this is caused by the direct influence of the Precursor civilization who manifested themselves as humanoids."
