My point is, I know Kona can't afford to replace his rig. But at the same time, to spend time, effort, and money on the one he has is a wasted effort because no matter what you add to that rig, it's going to be a slow, slug of a machine, no matter what.
No, Jim, not exactly. With an AM2 socket mobo to go with his current RAM and the CPU I have to donate, he'd have a fairly decent machine ha would do him quite a while. Okay, the tower's old and the DVD Rom is dying, but the essential running gear wouldn't be too shabby.
AS for Starkers. you just bought some space rig and windows eight, with like 50 gig of ram, obviously you are doing well, does not mean the rest of the world has what you have to offer, so wear our shoes.
Um, Doortech, you have no idea, none at all. How easy it must be for you to sit the other side of the screen, read a few words and suddenly know all there is to know about me. Hmm, have I news for you.
Firstly, I am a disabled pensioner and not at all well off... however, I am as tight as a fishes arse and keep my living expenses as low as possible to afford things I want.
Secondly, I do not smoke; drink much or very often; go out for meals, clubbing or pubbing; go out to movies; buy clothing very often or run a car.
Thirdly, I save like buggery each year so I can afford to rebuild my PC/upgrade tech. Oh, and seeing as how you remember my "space rig" so well, you'll recall I went Cheap with AMD, only 16 gigs of RAM, and that it cost me around 700 bucks to upgrade...and Win 8 cost me just 40 bucks some months later.
So, Doortech, if you're healthy, mobile and can get out and about, I'll gladly trade it for my arthritic, immobile, hardly ever get out life that's often wracked with pain, depression and sickness. Yeah, walk 50 yards in my shoes!
