Hello Red Ruby,
When someone is in the eco slot and is asked to go early feed or late feed, what does that mean and how do you go about it?
If I would be in Eco spot and one of my teammates was in a 2v1. I would get research for feed early and I would wait as long as needed with spamming trade untill my teammate is either dead or in a position where I could stop feeding him for a while and get some trade up.
If you're expanding too fast i.e. If ur using Truce among Rouges(Tec Rebels) Or if you got good micro and awarness you will be able to expand in atleast 2 directions, and maybe more with any race.
If you're expanding in 2 directions there is a possibility that you're going to get alot of underdevelopment from your planets and lose income if you can't keep up with the development upgrades. So that is also a thing to keep in mind when you're trying to feed early.
Late feed isn't really something you call.
I always try to have 1 of the 2 feed researches finished before the first 10 minutes to be able to feed faster if someone would really need, instead of being forced to wait for both researches to finish, I only have to wait for one.
As Tec I would get some trade up early but keep in mind that you don't want to upgrade logistic slots.
As Advent I prioritize Culture and Social Upgrade on HW while im trying to expand in as many directions as possible.
As Vasari I'll also go with the Social upgrades and the Population growth upgrade in Tier2 Civ. with as many crystal/metal techs as possible, and alot of fighting over neutrals.
I also sell Crystal/metal to players as Vasari.
If you don't know how to do this, I advice you to look into it.
I can count the amount of players using this function with my 2 hands.
Alot of people think Eco is about getting trade up as soon as possible but this isn't true.
Trade is expensive and it slows down your expansion.
You want to get as many planets possible in the smallest amount of time.
Having 20planets instead of 10-15 is a huge advantage because if you have 20planets without trade, ur still getting a decent income from population, while the opponents eco is spending money on trade(~900 for tradeport+development costs Aprox 2k credits+minerals), you will just spend ~1k credits + minerals allowing you to expand almost twice as fast OR in 1 more direction, without screwing up ur eco. When you and ur opponents eco meet somewhere on his side(coz you colonize faster) you should starbase as fast as possible, set up your own tradeline, which will be alot longer because of you having more planets. Then just wait and see the #1 on eco ranking.
Always scout alot and if there is a planet with heavy militia and a couple of really easy planets after that one, you should consider skipping the heavy militia planet and colonize it later.
If ur using scout to colonize this won't be a problem because you will just kill krosovs & lrm and move onwards.
