The comment about wishing lynching to be socially acceptable is really tasteless, but saying that having gallows in a game focusing on medieval fantasy is also very silly. It's a game about killing your opponents and has dark magic in it; it's not like gallows is out of place. I don't get you, gunnergoz - least of all your correlation of gallows and juvenility.

So you can annihilate a city of a thousand or more with a volcano, start war after war to conquer the world, killing thousands in the process, or cast a spell to dominate all life in existence but a gallows is too much?

also add upgrade - a single chair infront of chair a stage - when animation kicks in you see a justin beiber song happening and the poor sod in the chair trapped slowly agonizingly dying.

ofcourse this upgrade causes massive penalties in city production and growth

Yes, I, too, have changed my mind.  i feel the gallows is just too tame for the harsh world of Elemental/FE.  Hey, people are flocking to that 'beacon of hope' right next to the gallows.  They are so happy because the gallows is so easy compared to scrapping by in the desert.  SD should consider upgrading the gallows to a 'drawn and quarter' area.  After all, drawn and quartered served many of the civilized nations, religions, and kingdoms of Earth.   Oh, FE is a fantasy game?  Its, like, all about crushing your opponenants and killing your enemies?  Oh, then a gallows is inappropriate, its so, Real Life.  FE needs a fantastical way to kill misbehaving citizens.  Any ideas?

How about a monster that you feed rebel citizens. Maybe a sacrificial altar that give mana every season at the cost of one virgin. Or maybe a pit full of detrivores that you can feed freshly ground prisoners to, allowing them to lay eggs in the meat. eventually producing dozens of creatures you can use as soldiers.
