I installed StarDock Central the other day to download the GalCiv II game that I'd already purchased. Evidently there is no way to actually get the game onto your machine without using this pathetic excuse for a software program.
After I installed SDC, I entered my account credentials. The program prompted me with a message: "Your Stardock.net account has failed to logon to the Stardock Central Servers..."
So I logged onto the Stardock site (using the exact same credentials which had just been rejected by SDC) and changed my account password, to see if that would work. Then I updated my credentials in SDC, and tried logging in again. Again, I got the same message. I tried changing my password a third time, and then the program told me that the password I had entered did not match the one that was stored for my user account. Okay, fine, I thought. I pressed the "Email me..." button to have Stardock tell me what it thinks my password is supposed to be. I entered my email address (the same one on my user account), and then SDC tells me it can't find my email address in the system!
What am I supposed to do now? I emailed Stardock's tech support people on Thursday with the same problem description, and guess what -- no answer. Not only can I not get to a game that I've already purchased because of this lame piece of "software", but I also won't be buying any future products sold via the Stardock website.
Do any other users have any idea what might be wrong? I'd like to get this thing working so I at least won't have wasted 20 bucks.
