Whiskey: Do you know that the Harrier is the only plane that can perform a "full stop" in the air?
Like when it is already moving at high speed, the nozzles turn to point front, thus they reduce the aircraft's speed so fast, that its like you are hitting on the brakes really hard on a high speed moving car. It can decelerate so fast, that the enemy who's "next" to you, will skim forwards, and you can be right behind him in no time.
Pretty neat trick huh?

That reason is actually the maneuver I was thinking of, allowing the Harrier to perform quite well in air-superiority. Still will probably lose to a dedicated air-superiority fighter though
