Colonizing planets??

I've created a custom race, I researched all of the basic/advanced techs for colonizing barren/radioactive/high grav/aquatic, yet I still cannot colonize any additional planets. I checked in the shipyard to see if it had created new colony modules like other games I've played did, but nothing there - just the standard colony module. help??!?

Once you have the techs, standard colony modules are all you need. There are not tech-specific versions of the colony odule.

In SEIV, one had to specify which planet environment a colony ship was designed to colonize.  That is, a CO2 planet could only be colonized by a colony ship with a CO2 colony module.  As Willythemailboy said, that is not the case in GC2.

Do note, howvever, that Quality 0 planets cannot be colonized by any tech.
