Win7 compatability

I'm trying to run GalCivII-Twilight in Windows7rc2, same hardware. (xfx680i w/dual core, dual nVidia 7300gt).  Using XPsp3 compatability mode.  It complains the directx accelerator is not enabled.

dxdiag says everything is enabled. I'm using directx 11.

Will GCII even run in win7? Works great in XP.  ...bwj...

 

Is anyone running GCII on win7?

I'm having the same problem. Win7rc2, DX11, Core2Duo, GeForce 8800 GTS512.

You can safely ignore the warning, the game'll run fine. (I used to play the game on Windows Server 2008 R2 RC, the server version of 7, and the game ran fine despite the warning. BTW the warning's gone now that I've upgrade to build 7264 of Windows 7.)

Just got the game today and love it! I had an issue on startup where the game complained of outdated video card drivers and subsequently DX was disabled.

I read up on it and it was down to dxdiagn.dll (I'm on Win7 x64 7100) not being compatible or throwing something off. So I grabbed the dll file from a Vista x64 install, copied that into my SysWOW64 folder and all was well I could increase the resolution and DX acceleration was re-enabled.

That solution did not work for me. Core 2 Duo, 8600M GT.

I don't know if this will work in Windows 7, but I fixed a similar issue in Vista by updating DirectX 9.

I figured out what the problem is. If you have duel monitors it may not work right off the bat. So you disable one monitor and then run the game and it should work fine. Then once you are in the game you go to video settings and turn off full screen mode. Then you can restart the game and enable your second monitor and it should work fine.
