This is no different to most other RTSs really except in a lot of other RTSs, most nubs/medium players just tended to sit back, turtle and build up their economy.
So you had a period of 5-10 mins at the beginning where it felt like you were playing (altho in reality, u were just playing Sim City).
You'll find that as soon as you rushed people, most nub/medium players just quit (ie when the fighting starts).
The difference with DG is that the fighting starts from the beginning cos there's no base building.
The other difference is, on other basebuilding RTS's, you could put up towers/defend from your base, which might cost the opponent a fair amount of resources.
Here, if you get killed in the first minute, not only are u giving them few hundred gold (which is vital), you lose 20 seconds or whatsoever and all the time, he's levelling up.
By the time you get back into the fight, u might still be level 1-2, and he might be 3-4.
That's hard. But hey, it's the way it is.
