My friend and i are avid players of Dota. When he came up with the news of a game that was like Dota but a real full 2gig+ game, it got me very interested. So...since i cant exchange games and didnt see any demo, i got the pirated version off the internet, was fun, a few bugs, worth buying. Im also a WoW veteran, since day 1.
To be honnest, i didnt knew your compagy but i did hear good things about it. Also my friend was saying a patch with more heroes (only 8 atm) was supposed to come out soon (at the time of my purchase). Part of my deception comes from that, but i cant blame you guys for it, i dont even know if there was really a planned patch for that. Beside that, as much as we WoW players like to complaint about Bliz's mistakes, they do have a very high budget and after 4 or 5 years of running WoW they got a nice system going for patches ( beside the fact they usually break 1/2 the stuff they didnt touch to fix 1/2 of what they where supposed to fix). So maybe it just me, i dont play many different video games anymore and im used to BLiz's very high standars, maybe its just me. But then, after patching, we cant host games anymore, hmmm. Well thats something im used to with Bliz, last time they came up with new content my toon got stuck on a loading screen until the next day.
So i do get an update on impulse. Yay! Maybe new heroes?? Hmmm, no. Well its cool, was more a wish then an expectation, i hope they fixed some of the bugs, maybe balance out a few things, gotta know to keep my edge. Let me see the patch notes. Wait, where are the patch notes? Open up impulse...no patch notes. Took me a while to find the small link under "Journal" called "demigod may 14th new version" this morning. And i tried to see if i was just stupid and missed it for the patch earlier this week, but hey! Not easy to find this 1 small link with text that isnt really what im looking for. Frankly, and i dont want to be mean, but i dont really care atm how many copies you sold or who reviewed it and how much it got or what happended in your offices. Its cool and all and ill probably goes thru it at 1 point in time but plz lets focus on the game i have here. P-A-T-C-H N-O-T-E-S. That what we call em. A "in developement" link would be nice too. But i cant find if i missed it earlier this week, or if it was ealier this week, or when, or what was done. Cause where i found the link of the "patch notes" (lets call it that for now) there was only 2 days worth, so if it was earlier then that, idk. Cant find the link to it, maybe they have a patch note history? Fail, again.
Just a quick word about the "patch notes" :
Quote : "With a 3 on 3 game, which, according to what I’ve seen in Supreme Commander, is the typical largest game people get into, C = 300. On Battle.net with Starcraft, the max number of players is 8. C = 560. But when you go to 10 players, C = 900, nearly double the complexity of trying to do an 8 player game."
Im the end user here, my job is to give money, not to know these things. BUT, you guys should. Again, im used to raid with 25 players, whats the "C" for that?! And, since...my god, years. Warcraft III has been played on a map called Dota made by a guy named Icefrog, 5v5. With Billy Bob's DLS connection. Maybe you sohuld call these ppl instead of trying to sell me OTHER stuff. Ok ok, here i go with Bliz again, i do pay 15$ a month for my WoW account, they do have alot of servers... and Battle.net....i mean its pretty big stuff. But wait...i dont play Dota on Battle.net. I trew away my copies of WC III a long time ago, so i play on garena. I dont pay these people. How is it done? Like i said i do not know these things, but from where i sit, seams to me like your marketing department is alot bigger then your technical department.
