I'm aiming for a BA in Media Arts and Design - still have a few years to go. Since my artistic skills are a little lacking the only resume experience I can really imagine building up right now would be in Beta's as a tester. There's probably hundreds of guides on google that focuses on this subject, however if anyone could enlighten me...
With public beta's being used more commonly as tools for advertisement with 9 out of 10 volunteers expected to drop out before the official end, and bug reports hardly submitted (especially for MMORPG's), does it help an individuals resume to participate in these? The "Dawn Of Magic" looks like an interesting game, by itself I wouldn't throw down the cash for entertainment value alone, yet with preorder is the beta. I'd do it purely for the sake of resume purpose. Am I wasting my time or are these programs an oppertunity for real experience?
I'd imagine participating in 4 or 5 open beta's could land a better, more prestigious position.
Especially if I put quality into the submissions, and feedback of each one.
Thanks in advance
Oh, and to clarify as not to offend anyway.
As we are very emotion and prone to name calling online - I'll add,
I have read the posts and faqs online about the business itself. Yet simply
have not found the subject that pertains to open beta's specifically, and was
hoping for direct experience from an individual who would know.
That's all.
Best regards.
