Oh, no, I don't mean a current forum administrator, I mean back... wow, it was a while ago now. Brain-fart, I can't remember what happened with it. Didn't the official (european) Haegemonia site shut down or something a couple years post-release?
Note I mean "Haegemonia" not "Hegemonia", I never was too involved with Dreamcatcher Games, although they did send me a free copy of the game
How about Haegemonia Galaxy? Do you remember that site? It was the game's biggest fansite, all kinds of stuff - I think the name's been "stolen" now by one of my more active members. Can't blame him, of course, I shut the real thing down years ago.
OK, if not HG, do you recall the file called Rolling Demo Mod? Back when Haeg was first announced they released a rolling demo, featuring a small battle around a starbase. I made a mod for it, "RD_Mod_v1", people went nuts for it, that's actually how I first got in contact with the Digital Reality team.
The "old guard" at DR isn't there anymore for the most part now, if the company exists at all. Gabor Feher (he was with the company as far back as Imperium Galactica 1, possibly even Reunion) doesn't work there anymore, I heard he got a job with Disney because of his CG work.
If you enjoyed Haegemonia, I highly recommend trying out Imperium Galactica 2, it was their previous game. IMO the original Imperium Galactica was a better product, but IG2 was a lot simpler to play and had a lot of innovative features. It's bargain-bin material now, but you should really give it a shot, it was one of the last "great" 4X games IMO.
O-R-B was also reasonably well-received, although the ships looked like washing machines with wings. Damn but that game was ugly...
