These mainly concerns the Vasari since my games using TEC and Advent were not as drawn out. Concerning the starbase it seems to target the first ship that comes into the gravity well, and will not fire at anything that comes near it till the point it can fire at the original target. You can easily get it to quit this behavior by hitting stop. This tends to be really troublesome if a starbase is placed in the gravity well of a star. A scout ship can come through on the opposite end, it will begin pursuit, and then a whole armada can come in next to it, and it will pointedly ignore them.
Also concerning the vasari starbase is it only designed to fire within a 180 to 220 degree arch in front of it. It appears to either be unwilling or unable to fire at anything at it's "rear". Now granted this could be due to the banks being occupied by the sheer number of enemy ships in its vicinity, but it did appear that those ships that were situated behind the starbase were only targeted after it had turned.
Lastly I noticed that the star shaped installation seige engines that the advent posses didn't want to fire after I loaded a saved game. Early ships fired just fine, but these were all newly minted, and when I came back to the game, and brought them to an enemy planet they just sat there. Showing they had structures targeted by dealing no damage. I checked to make sure that perhaps the projectiles weren't rendering. They just didn't fire. This held true for hostile siege ships as well. Though after the game had been finished and I continued to play I did noticed the cpu's versions were firing, but very intermintently. Loaded a saved game as vasari, never built any of their seige ships, but did noticed that both the tec and advent cpu's siege engines worked. So perhaps it was just that game or because I was playing advent as well.
Also whenever I boot up my computer with the Sins CD after I downloaded entrenchment I get a window that pops up asking me if I want to re-install, repair, or delete SINS. This happens even after entrenchment has been deleted if Sins is still left on. If you see this you're safe to re-install, but do not choose repair. I had a working version of of Sins w/entrenchment, but afterward when I accidentally hit it I got the mini dumps issue again.
