I downloaded and installed GalCiv 1 Ultimate Edition from Impulse. The "My Games" page shows both GalCiv and Altarian Prophecy are installed. I can play GalCiv and the Prelude to War campaign just fine ... but when I select Altarian Prophecy from the campaign menu, I get as far as the opening menu for the first scenario and the game crashes.
The GalCiv exe file says it's version 1.0.0.1 ... while the Altarian Prophecy readme file says that GalCiv must be version 1.22 or higher before installing the expansion.
The download installed to two different folders within the Stardock Games folder: AltarianProphecy and GalCiv. The program file in each is galciv.exe version 1.0.0.1. But if I open the galciv.exe from the AltarianProphecy folder, I get what looks to be version 1.52 with "Altarian Prophecy" as a subtitle on the main game screen, as well as a button to select "campaigns" that I do not get if I run the game from the exe file in the galciv folder. As I said, the Prelude to War campaign seems to work fine, but the Altarian prophecy crashes.
Any suggestions, Seabass? Can I start from square one ... uninstall and download a clean version ... perhaps to CD or DVD this time? I feel if I had more control during the install process things may have turned out better.
Thanks!
