Backup games

I want to ask if there is a way to backup the games from impulse to dvd's or HDD?

I have to format my pc but i don't want to re-download 10 games (20GB almost)

Can i do it? and how?

Right click on the game. Choose Archive.

Copy the *.impulse file from the impulse/backup directory to your DVD.

After the format, install Impulse (from the net). Then click on the orb in the upper left of Impulse and choose restore . . .

Browse to your DVD and you should be set

Hi,

I right click and achieved my games. After impulse copies files. I noticed that my drive have less space. And if I want to archive again impluse warns that I might overwrite previous archives files... And yet

I can't find the " *.impulse file from the impulse/backup directory ".

Please advice me on what is the full path.

I can't find the .impulse file either.

Where does it save it?

EDIT: I looked in the default folder program files x86 > Stardock > Impulse

But there is no Backup folder.

Click on the orb in the upper left of impulse. Choose preferences. Choose Folders. Look where it stores archives. Go there.

I found them at last!

Open Impulse, right click on the application, click on "Open application folder" and there it is. At programs files> (The company that publishing the application)

If you have vista then the files might be in program data not program files C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Impulse\backup

Well this is what I thought too, but I cannot find that folder in my C: drive on my Vista machine. My archive folder is set to the default C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Impulse\backup. I just finished archiving Demigod and cannot find the .impulse file on my machine. And the ProgramData folder does *not* exist in my C drive.

Crazy thing is, when I go to restore the archive jsut to see if it can find it, it shows up right away and shows me the name of the file (Demigod1.10.115_07.06.2009.impulse). However, if I just search for this file on my computer it is nowhere to be found. I can find all the other files that begin with Demigod* with no trouble. So where does the application hide this thing?

I found it. The reason - 'ProgramData' is an already existing and 'hidden' folder in Vista. If you want to find it or even be able to search for files in it, you have to go into your Control Panel, Folder Options and select the option to show hidden files/folders.
