I just preordered Galactic Civilizations 2 Ultimate Edition (EU) which is released on the 21. November. I haven't played any versions of GalCiv before, so everything is new to me. I am planning to play the campaigns first, to get the full experience. Now, about the installation order, what is recommended? Install everything first, patch it and then start with the first campaign, or do I miss out on some essential "wow" effect when getting the new content from the expansions?

This has probably been asked hundreds of times, but is it possible to patch my Ultimate Edition to 2.0 when it is released?

I am pretty excited about the game right now. I just browsed the ship design thread, and I was amazed how customizable the designs are. Can you create the hull in any form (e.g. my own army of Tie-Fighters and Star Destroyers)?
