Indeed. I was surrounded by Drengin who had decided that I had to die (I managed to stave this off til endgame by trading heavily with them). They had ridiculous military might, while I was still stuck farther back in the weapons branches. The only way I saw to win was Tech victory, which I went for and managed to grab right as they were knocking down my doors. The "win" consisted of me pushing Turn over and over... and over. Honestly, I think it would have been more interesting to fight it out and lose, than win and be bored. Going out in a blaze of glory sounds a lot better than transcending mortality by pushing a button.I've disabled it for all future games.
The most useful thing for upping your mil rating is the Spin Control Center. Using that, you can stave off war with an empire with 10x the military might you have. I ignored it for a while when I first started playing, but it's become one of the most important structures. Then
you can decide when and where to go to war.
