I created this account just to complain to Stardock about my recently purchased copy of Sins of a Solar Empire. I had heard good things about this game, and have purchased and installed it and was looking to download any available updates to the game. Alas, I needed to created an account. That's where you lost me.
Oh, and there is no "contact us" feedback available. I have to create an account. Therefore you leave me no choice but to create a dummy account to leave feedback.
I have enough accounts on the internet already. You are not important enough to create an account for to download any available patches for a game I have already purchased.
I purchased the game from EB Games, if you care. They have great service and recommended your game.
Self-important companies/websites such as your self are beyond irritating. It frustrates me to no end to have to jump through hoops to get updates for a game I already bought. No, I do not want to give you my email address so that you can send me junk I do not want to hear about. No, I do not want you to contact me for any reason. I bought you game, I will contact you if the situation requires it. I do not wish to have any further relationship with Stardock beyond my purchase of your game. I will decide on future game purchases on merit alone, not your marketing departments spam. If you consider patches to your retail game to require additional commitment from the consumer, then that is fine, as that is your choice. It will, however, affect my decision to purchase games from Stardock in the future.
Sorry if this seems overly harsh, but it is rather tame compared to what I'm thinking right now. For what it's worth, I have enjoyed your game so far, but I will not be downloading patches for it nor visiting this website again. I just wanted to leave my feedback in the only method you seem to allow, so that hopefully you and I can avoid this situation if I happen to purchase a Stardock game in the future.
Cheers, and all the best,
Disgruntled Sins of a Solar Empire Customer who just wanted to download a patch but got pulled into a half-hour slog through the marshes of Stardock-feedback.
