I like to pretend my member number is my score. Then my kids will respect me.  

Seriously though, with some numbers near 3 million i don't think it has anything to do with the actual number of people who are members on this site.

The number is shared across all of our sites. So yeah, it's safe to say there are actually that many accounts.

It would be interesting to know how many active members there are... something like "having submitted a game or post/reply in the last 2 months"...?!

I was wondering when a thread like this would pop up
I thought I had a reasonably low number but now I see it's shockingly high. I should have registered it immediately when I got GalCiv2, clearly

I've noticed Brad is #1 for a while now, but I want to know who is #2? I've only seen one other under 100 and I think it's CariElf at #63.

There seem to be a number of low-numbered accounts reserved too - no usernames, and no access to anything. Makes sense to keep some 'high' ranking numbers for SD staff

Hmmm seems as good as a place as any to ask this, but Kryo will the ranks return to the forum instead of the member number.

I kinda liked having Veteran there for all to see......2,449,518 just doesn't have the same ring to it.

We remove accounts if they have not logged in in order a certain time frame (like a year or two, not sure which). But we don't fill them in.
