Battleships carriing fighters

Hello,

I have recently noticed that in later game when u build Capital ships they aren´t able to carry any tiny fighters. For me it would add a nice touch to the game Battleships to have Hangars since u can find this in allmost every science fiction universe. If there where modules, like a trademodul, which u can put on your battleship and provide your ship with some 5 tiny fighters with limited firepower. If there´s a fight in which the battleship s involved they launch and attack the enemy. This should be an additional tech to research aswell.

I don´t know if there where any post to this but I think this is really something thats missing in the game. Maybe u have some ideas based on that and about realisation...

I believe there's been some discussion around this topic already. As far as I know there are no plans to implement this yet. Personally I'd also like to see some larger fleets. Even at max logistics you can only band together one huge hull and maybe four small ones.

On this topic, I'd actually also like to see "huger than huge" hulls -- this is purely a flavour issue, but I want ships exceeding the 1500m length mark. It's not called "space" for nothing, it's not like there ain't enough room for a 5km long ship!

hey, just a though on this. Because it is clear we won't have hangars, a module increasing logistics on a particular ship would do the job.

The new fleet coordination modules really serve the purpose of a carrier ship, anyways, especially if you're Terran and have access to warp bubble techs.

Even at max logistics you can only band together one huge hull and maybe four small ones.

If that is all you can fleet together, then you have never reached max logistics. Max logistics is well over 50, even with the most logistics restricted race. You should certainly be able to fleet 5 huge hulls together in the late game, possibly as many as 7+ with the Yor.

I've had fleets of as many as 20+ small-hull attack ships running around in the late game.

I always make sure to gift every AI expert logistics and expert miniaturization as soon as I get them. I then wait around until they build their hyperion shrinker and their hyperion logistics before taking them over. Sometimes I get bored waiting and don't bother but I think a logistics of 64 is about the minimum that I've played with in a very long time. A logistics in the 70's is not unusual.

Hang on, so Miniaturisation makes fleets larger too? Even though it would require full tech on Logistics and Miniaturisation and those Hyperion improvements, a logistics of 70 would indeed give me the enormous fleets I want (one huge hull and twenty small hulls!).

Now we just need those enormous hulls...

no this makes ships bigger or equipment smaller. not sure which. in either case you end up being able to more junk on your ships. you know like weapons and defenses.

Oh, I'm quite familiar with that function; supposed to represent smaller components, in-game your hulls are actually more spacious. The question is whether Miniaturisation also decreases individual ships' Logistics scores or, alternatively, raises your fleet's maximum Logistics.

No, it doesn't, in that case Mumble was just saying how he liked to give the AIs techs for the one per player super projects so he can get multiple instances when he attacks.

Right now I have 57 logistics, which is 28 tiny hull or 7 huge hull. Mumble getting up to the logistcs he speaks of is insane. A logistics in the 70s would be big time scary, especially in DL where only one shot per ship exsists.
