I've just completed a very weird game. I played the humans with a good economy, good morale and some extra soldiering (I also had a few helpful morale tradegoods and the TirQuan).

I was too slow conquering the Drengin, so by the time I had finished them, the Korx had conquered everyone else, except a few Yor.
So they owned like 70% of the map - I had the rest - plus the three Yor planets.
When they declared war on the Yor - I saw my only and last chance to attack the Korx. I advanced a bit into their territory, capturing a few palnets, before they had killed all the Yor and kicked my ass - reducing me to no ships/no stations at all.

I didn't want to give up, so I went for a tech victory (even though I hadn't really gotten far into the science tech tree (I had some middling science buildings) and the tech rate was VERY SLOW.

And then it happened.

Transport after transport arrived - I fought and I reproduced. This way I could survive for 2 years with no ships (low taxes = high reproduction).

The AI (on crippling) never sent in more than 2 transports together - so I could shrug them off with no losses of planets. I didn't write a proper AAR, though - it would have been pure pornography...

This is so weird, isn't it? I think I deserved to die in that game!
