Application error

I have had to re-install the game due to some PC issues. Now when I click on the icon to start the game, I receive the error message:

GalCiv2 v1.0:galciv2.exe application error

the instruction at 0x7c911404 referenced memory at 0xfeffff8. The memory could not be 'read'

click OK to terminate
click cancel to debug....

any ideas what the problem could be?

Try reinstalling again/updating the game to the latest version.
