Ok, this only happens when i try to play a custom race. After i pick my race and set all of it's characteristics. I try to load the game and get this message:

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Buffer Overrun Detected
Program...Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\galciv.exe

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the programs
internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and now
must be terminated."

This drove me nuts for five hours. I checked this site and downloaded new drivers for just about everything. Reset some parameters, blah,blah,blah.

Then i tried playing one of the already set races and the game worked fine. Tried the custom race again...same buffer overrun message.

Any advice? I'm pretty much a rookie when it comes to messing around with computers. But, if you explain it to me like a six year old. I can walk myself thru it.
Any help would be appreciated.
